Darrin Lee Memmer passed away at the aged 53 on April 15, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
This author page is to honour his legacy of more than 30 Elvis books.
Darrin was an author who divided readers. His Elvis books were often controversial and, particularly his latter releases,
thoroughly researched and full of "primary source" material - this was undoubtedly an important contribution to the Elvis
world. Many of his Elvis books were issued with a different cover, a slightly changed title, but with exactly the same contents.
Apart from more than 30 Elvis titles, Darrin also wrote books about President Bill Clinton, Nancy Reagan, and Michael Jackson.
At the time of his death, Darrin was finalising his two latest Elvis books,
Marion Keisker - Elvis, Sam, Sun Records, Cash & the Colonel: Through Her Eyes
and the other about Elvis' appearance on the Grand Ole Opry.
The book on Marion Keisker was superseeded by the book
Marion Keisker: The Woman Who First Recorded Elvis by Paul F. Bélard in 2025.
